What is publishing?
Publishing is the act of producing printed, visual or audio-based material that can be accessed for mass consumption.
This is usually done through traditional methods like print on demand companies and book publishing companies, but publishing has also evolved to include online digital books.
How to write a book outline
It may seem like a daunting task to write an entire book. But don't worry- we'll break down the process for you step-by-step.
First, create an outline for your book. If you're writing a novel, this should be about 12 chapters. If you're writing a nonfiction book, this should be a roadmap for your work that includes the introduction and conclusion as well as all of your chapters.
Once you have your outline in place, organize it into sections with headings and subheadings before you start writing the first draft of your manuscript. You can use bullet points if that works better for you.
Next, it will be time to write the first draft of your manuscript! This is where you can really get creative and have some fun with what you want to say. Begin by outlining all of the information from each section in your outline. Then fill in these sections with sentences or paragraphs detailing your ideas and thoughts on that particular part of the outline.
Remember - You can always edit later on down the line! Don't feel pressured to complete every sentence at once!
Publishing on Amazon
Let's say you want to create a book or novel, and you're wondering what the steps are for publishing on Amazon. There are multiple ways to publish your book and make money, but the best way is by selling your book on Amazon.
The first step before publishing on Amazon is to get an edited manuscript. Once edited, you'll need to get it formatted into a PDF file. You can then upload this file into CreateSpace which has an agreement with Amazon. When approved, your book will be available for purchase worldwide on their site!
If you choose the self-publishing route through CreateSpace, you'll also have access to Kindle Unlimited and other benefits like royalties from sales and direct sales. And if you want to go all out and do it yourself without partnering with CreateSpace or Kindle Unlimited, you can also sell your books in print form via print on demand services like IngramSpark or Blurb's Print On Demand service.
Marketing and Selling Your Book.
You have a completed manuscript and you're ready to publish it. But where do you start? How do you reach a wider audience?
